Access Bank Polo: Leading the Charge for Meaningful Change

 

Polo, a sport renowned for its strategy, teamwork, and horsemanship, has epitomized elegance for centuries. However, its appeal extends beyond thrilling matches and stylish events—polo plays a significant role in high-profile charity gatherings, merging luxury with philanthropy globally. On Saturday, July 20, 2024, Windsor showcased this blend at the Access Bank UK Polo Day held at the Guards Polo Club.

Mirroring the prestige of renowned polo events like the Argentine Open Polo Championship, the Dubai Polo Gold Cup, Cartier Polo events, and the US Open Polo Championship, the Access Bank Polo Tournaments exemplify the sport's grace while underscoring a strong commitment to social impact. In July 2023, Access Bank, in collaboration with Fifth Chukker Resort and other partners, hosted the ‘Access Bank Polo Day’ at the Guards Polo Club in Windsor. The tournament featured two dynamic polo matches aimed at raising funds to build 100 classroom blocks in Kaduna State, Nigeria.

The 2024 event at the Guards Polo Club marked a significant milestone with the inauguration of 60 new classrooms. Roosevelt Ogbonna, FCA, CFA, Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Access Bank, highlighted the project's significance, stating, “These classrooms will be more than just buildings; they will be sanctuaries of hope, nurturing the dreams of thousands of children and shaping their futures.”
