25 Teams Set to Spark Afriskaut NLO Cup Action in Abuja and Ijebu-Ode
Twenty-five leading teams from Nigeria's third-tier football league are ready to showcase their talents as the 2024 Afriskaut NLO Cup kicks off from October 5th to 20th.
The Afriskaut NLO Cup, which is contested by champions from the regular Division One and U19 Youth League seasons, will see its second edition this year. This will be the inaugural edition under Afriskaut, known for its advanced data-driven football scouting and player analytics. The NLO Secretariat recently announced the 25 participating teams and their respective conferences.
In the Northern Conference, teams include Barau FC (Kano), FC Basira (Lafia), Jnr Danburan FC (Katsina), Dan Lawan FC (Adamawa), Yalo FC (Bauchi), Mamba Pro FC (FCT), Global Peace FC (Jos), Gimzsoca FC (Jigawa), Atlantic Integral FC (Niger), Jega United FC (Kebbi), Tahir Babes FC (Kano), Kano Ambassadors FC (Kano), and Shied FC (Kano). The Southern Conference features First Bank FC Lagos, Igbajo United (Osun), Kun Khalifat FC (Imo), Magic Stars (Lagos), Emalex FC (Ondo), FC Ebedei Jnr (Ogun), Elebuibon Boyz (Osun), May & Frank FC (Calabar), Ahudiyannema FC (Abia), Bendel Insurance Jnr FC (Edo), Ozzala FC (Anambra), and Liqui Moly FC (Lagos).
NLO Chief Operating Officer Olushola Ogunnowo commented, “The Afriskaut NLO Cup offers a more inclusive Champion of Champions competition. It enables clubs to challenge themselves against a broader spectrum of top opponents and enhances the excitement for fans by showcasing high-caliber matchups. With 25 teams—13 from the Northern Conference and 12 from the Southern Conference—set to light up Bwari Stadium in the Federal Capital Territory and Dipo Dina Stadium in Ijebu-Ode, fans can expect thrilling football action and spectacular goals.”
