AFCON qualifier: Libya set to host Nigeria in Benina

Libya has chosen to host Group D leaders Nigeria at the Martyrs of Benina Stadium for their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match on Tuesday, October 15.

Nigeria will play the first leg in Uyo on Friday, September 11.

The stadium, located in Benina, about 19 kilometers from Benghazi, was formerly known as Hugo Chávez Stadium and has a capacity of 10,000 with artificial turf. The match in Uyo will kick off at 5 PM, while the game in Benina will start at 8 PM Nigerian time.

Nigeria currently leads the group with four points after a 3-0 victory over Benin Republic in Uyo and a goalless draw against Rwanda in Kigali.

Libya, on the other hand, sits at the bottom of Group D after two matches, having drawn 1-1 at home against Rwanda at the Tripoli International Stadium and lost 2-1 to Benin Republic in Abidjan.
