Butler-Oyedeji nets a last-minute winner in the 96th minute against Stoke, securing victory for Arsenal

 

Nathan Butler-Oyedeji scored a thrilling last-minute goal, leading Arsenal to a 1-0 win over Stoke City at the Bet365 Stadium and preserving their perfect start to the Premier League 2 season.

The Premier League 2 Player of the Month for August struck in the dying moments of the match, securing all three points for Arsenal.

Despite a strong opening from the Gunners, they found it difficult to penetrate a solid Stoke defense that successfully blocked numerous attempts.

Butler-Oyedeji, who received a yellow card in the 82nd minute, made an impact in the 96th minute with a well-placed finish following an assist from Michał Rosiak.

This victory keeps Arsenal at the top of the table with a flawless record of four wins from four matches, amassing 12 points, tied with West Ham in second.

In his four appearances this season, Butler-Oyedeji has been a key player, scoring five goals and providing two assists.

A London native, he joined Arsenal at the age of eight and has trained with the first team, though he has yet to make an official appearance.

To gain experience, he was loaned to Accrington Stanley in January 2023 and later to Cheltenham Town in September 2023.

With his strong performances this season, he aims to catch Mikel Arteta's eye and secure a spot in the first team.
