Bwari Coaches Summer Youth Cup Ends in Grand Style



The Bwari Coaches Summer Youth Cup concluded in a spectacular fashion, marking a successful end to a vibrant competition that began with 35 teams participating across various age groups. 


The final day of the tournament kicked off promptly at 12:05 PM with the U15 match between Yaba Stars and Sporting Dream. The game ended in a thrilling 2-2 draw, and after a tense penalty shootout, Sporting Dream emerged victorious.


The excitement continued with the U13 fixture, featuring Bwari United FA against Sporting Dream. This match also concluded in a draw, leading to another penalty shootout. Once again, Sporting Dream proved their mettle and secured the win.







The highlight of the day was the U17 match between Starlite FA and Optimum Sports FA. Optimum Sports FA initially took the lead, but Starlite FA equalized, resulting in a 1-1 draw at regulation time. The game proceeded to penalties, where Starlite FA eventually triumphed. The match faced a moment of controversy due to a disputed refereeing decision, but Starlite FA’s victory was ultimately confirmed.









During the closing ceremony, medals were awarded to the winners as well as to outstanding players and coaches from throughout the competition. 


In his closing remarks, Bwari Football Association Chairman Mr. Felix Musa expressed gratitude to the leaders and members of the Bwari Football Coaches Association for their efforts in keeping the youth engaged during the holiday season. He also extended his appreciation to the press for their continued support and called for further collaboration between the FA and the media to foster the development of football in the council.
