former Super Eagles defender Joseph Yobo expresses his desire to return to coaching with the Nigeria National Team

Former Norwich and Nigeria defender Joseph Yobo asserts that the Super Eagles will miss out on significant opportunities if he doesn't return to a coaching role with the national team. The 2013 AFCON winner served as an assistant manager from 2020 to 2022 but was dismissed after Nigeria failed to qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
In a recent interview with Ifeanyi Udeze on Brila, Yobo expressed his desire to coach the Nigerian team again, emphasizing his experience with Gernot Rohr and Augustine Eguavoen. He stated, "My life doesn’t depend on coaching, but I believe Nigeria would miss something if I don’t return. Everyone knows my passion for the game, and I’ve learned a lot.
I haven’t closed the door on coaching, but it’s not my main focus. Local coaches need better treatment." Currently, the Super Eagles lack an official head coach following halted contract talks with Bruno Labbadia, with Eguavoen overseeing the team for now.
