Papa M. Daniel: "I'm Here to Help Niger Tornadoes Achieve Greatness"

Niger Tornadoes' rising star and new No. 10, Papa Daniel, has expressed his commitment to helping the team achieve success.

The former attacking midfielder for Sporting Supreme FC of Abuja and Adanaspor of Turkey impressed football fans and critics alike with his remarkable skills during a recent pre-season tournament in Jos. He now aims to solidify his presence in the squad with top-tier performances.

Although the former Nigerian youth international missed his highly anticipated NPFL debut in Ilorin last weekend due to a technical issue, which has since been resolved, he is set to feature in the squad for this weekend's NPFL Matchday 2 clash against Nasarawa United.

Speaking with Niger Tornadoes FC Media, the talented midfielder shared his excitement about relaunching his career in the NPFL:

"It feels great to be back home and playing in my country, especially in the NPFL. I’m really excited—honestly, I can't wait to get started."

Daniel, who joined Niger Tornadoes from Sporting Supreme FC, mentioned that while he doesn't have a specific role model, he admires NPFL legend and Kano Pillars captain, Rabiu Ali (Pele).

He emphasized his dedication to helping Niger Tornadoes reach greater heights and his personal ambition to return to Europe, which remains his ultimate goal.

Commenting on his experience with the NPFL, Daniel acknowledged that his initial perception of the league was shaped by fears of crowd trouble, but noted that things have improved:

"My first impression of the NPFL was that it seemed intimidating due to crowd disturbances, but things are changing. Fans are more educated now, and I credit the league board for implementing measures to improve the league's image."

The former Nigeria U17 star also expressed his gratitude for the warm reception from his new teammates and coaches at Niger Tornadoes, particularly highlighting his positive relationship with his roommate, Ahmed Family:

"I'm happy to be here. The players and coaches have been very welcoming, which made it easy for me to settle in. My roommate Ahmed Family is a great guy, and that helped a lot."

He concluded with a message to the fans: "I urge everyone to come out in full force to support the team this weekend. We promise to give our best, but we need their unwavering support."
