AFCON 2025: Eight Nations Secure Qualification for Tournament
At least eight countries have secured their spots in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) to be held in Morocco. The qualified nations include Congo, Senegal, Egypt, Angola, Cameroon, Algeria, Burkina Faso, and hosts Morocco.
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) confirmed this through several posts on their X account on Tuesday. Congo, Senegal, Egypt, and Angola are the latest teams to qualify after their victories today.
Congo triumphed over Tanzania with a 2-0 win at the Benjamin Mkapa National Stadium, while Angola beat Niger Republic 1-0. Egypt secured a 1-0 victory against Mauritania, and Senegal also won 1-0 against Malawi.
